Preparations before cleaning
For cleaning your sensor you need Sensor-Film of course, a pair of tweezers, a small brush, a pair of scissors to cut the paper slash, and good light to illuminate the mirror box.
If you have decided to purchase the dry pellets version of Sensor-Film you have to dissolve the package in 25ml of cold water. Mix it in a glass and cover the glass with a plastic foil. Put it in an oven at 80° (180°F) for about 2 hours. Take out the glass every 30 minutes and stir it. After 2 hours all pellets are dissolved. You will get a liquid with the viscosity of thin honey. If you have problems dissolving the pellets you have probably not taken enough water. If you think the film is too thin, let it rest for a few hours without plastic foil on the glass to evaporate some of the water.
Sensor-film has to cool after the dissolving process. This will make the film a bit thicker. Fill it in a bottle, seal it, and let it rest for about 12 hours. The polymers need this time for self arrangement in the liquid phase. After this time has elapsed you can use Sensor-Film in your camera.
